ITALY : THE HEART OF THE WORLD OF MAGIC

In the heart of the Mediterranean Sea , a boot-shaped peninsula from July 14th to 19th will be the heart of the “ World of Magic ”. Italy has in fact been selected by FISM to host the FISM World Championship of Magic 2025 in Turin .

It is the second time in history that Italy welcomes the World Championship of Magic , witnesses extraordinary performances , and discovers the latest innovations in the field of illusionism ... but this is just the end of this story .
Let ’ s start from the beginning …
Italy has been the cradle of ancient civilizations that have left an indelible mark on history . While the legacy of the Roman Empire and the Renaissance is well known , less known is Italy ' s contribution to the magical arts . For centuries , the Italian peninsula has given birth to great illusionists who have profoundly influenced magic in all its forms .
Already in the times of ancient Rome , magic intertwined with religion and superstition . Alexander of Paphlagonia ( died in 170 AD ) used techniques similar to modern mentalism . Many names of illusionists from that time have been lost , but the oldest documented one is Andreas , who performed in the squares under Justinian ( 527-565 AD ), accompanied by his blind dog with reddish fur .
