SPECIAL EDITION 2022

This very special edition is dedicated to FISM 2022 which was held in Quebec , Canada from July 25th - 30th . VANISH was well represented with contributions from Peter Samelson , Louie Foxx , Ryan Joyce and Connie Boyd .

After getting all the articles in I realized there were far too many to put into a regular monthly edition of VANISH , so decided to put together something that everybody can enjoy and share . Feel free to share this edition on social media and in your magic organizations .

Ryan Joyce takes us on a daily tour of all the events , galas , lectures , and the full results . Louie Foxx takes a much more personal approach from meeting friends , finding places to eat , and trying to make it to the 8am start time of the competitions after a long night of magic jamming .

Peter Samelson was able to attend the competitions and was kind enough to take his notes and give his honest thoughts on what he saw . For those who are thinking about attending FISM in Italy 2025 , you MUST read this because it will help you put your plan together of how to approach it .

Connie Boyd approaches her article from the perspective of a lecturer . I have heard from those who attended that her lecture was a highlight , and a real eye opener . A note to all organizers of magic conventions around the world ; BOOK Connie Boyd for this lecture because it is truly remarkable .

I would like to acknowledge the two people who were behind getting this incredible event to North America for the first time in its history : Renée-Claude Auclair and Pierre Hamon . I know the hard work they both put into this , and I salute you both and the team that worked under your guidance .
