THIS MONTH

Our featured artist this month is Malcolm“ Puck” Puckering, whom I recently had the pleasure of watching perform at The Magic Castle. Puck possesses a remarkable ability to weave his personal story into his performances, creating a genuine connection with audiences that is rarely seen in magic. His journey into the art of magic is both inspiring and compelling, and the direction he is now taking with his work is deeply meaningful. I am delighted to share his story with our readers.
For some time, I have been writing about the issue of bullying and the profound impact it can have on individuals. While this is certainly not a new topic, it remains an important one. My hope is that people will take the time to listen to the voices of those who have courageously shared their experiences. By understanding the real effects of our words and actions— both in person and online— we can all make better choices and help create a more supportive and respectful community.
Congratulations are also in order for Connie Boyd, whose book has received the top honor at The Indie Book Awards, one of the most respected independent publishing awards in the United States. Adding to this exciting achievement, Connie has been invited to present her book at a major librarians’ conference this month, creating opportunities for it to reach public libraries throughout the country. The book continues to earn significant recognition, and it is gratifying to see it reaching an ever-wider audience. I am proud that Vanish Press had the opportunity to publish this project and contribute to its success through its design, layout, and production. As Vanish Press continues to grow, we are now accepting publishing projects from other authors and creators. If you have a book you would like to bring to life, I would be delighted to hear from you.
This issue also features an exciting look at Margaret Steele’ s upcoming book, The Queen of Magic: The Wondrous, Unstoppable Adelaide Herrmann. Scheduled for release in September, this fascinating work shines a spotlight on one of magic’ s most extraordinary figures. VANISH readers will enjoy an exclusive early look at the story behind the book and its remarkable subject.
