A Series of EDC Mentalism & Underground Magic Effects

When it comes to technology , one can say that it can be a double edged sword . On one side you have the convenience of a tool that can offer incredible possibilities regarding effects and utilities , and on the flip side , it ’ s about as reliable as youre ex . Don ’ t get me wrong ! I love the tech and use it on a daily , but in regards to relying on it to execute an effect , I can say from experience that using apps on my phone to get consistent results without the fear of missing an update , wifi or something else , isn ’ t my reality .

On numerous occasions , I ’ ve had an effect crash during a peak point in my performance leaving me with a well-deserved egg on my face . One bitten , twice shy as the saying goes . Without going into details , my overall experience left me with the desire to create something for myself that was self-contained within the iPhone ’ s existing functionalities , which are by far mostly unexploited by the major part of practitioners of the mystycal arts , not to mention the general public .

I ’ m honoured and proud to have the opportunity to share this with my fellow particioners of the mystycal arts , with humble hopes that it ’ s applications will serve you as well as they have me .

With a bit of research , I found one of the most simple , practical and efficient ways to create my very own digital crib . Yes , it does involve the infamous Apple Shortcuts that I , myself was initially intimidated to take on , but figured out a way to break things down into the most basic steps that can be tailored to my needs , in this case , I wanted to instantly know the exact position of any card within a stack on command . The stack that I personally use is the Si Stebbins stack that if interested is worth discovering through the “ Beyond Stebbins Project “ by Craig Petty at Alakazam Magic .

Why do it this way rather than use an App that already does this and probably way , way , way much more ? Because the price to pay for a failed effect is too costly for me and even if I do buy the best , latest App , there is a high probability that it will eventually require updates , thus , extra fees with no guarantees . What ’ s the advantage of using this setup ? As long as you own your iPhone , you will have instant access to a configuration that uses no more than its current OS , and , will only get better with every evolution from Apple !
