Another notable thing is in the ad copy Steve talks about using it for walk-around . I don ' t know where I would keep in on me for this working condition because it doesn ' t fit in any of my pockets . For me it is too bulky to carry in my pockets . I don ' t know if it could be make smaller but for me it ' s just not something I would carry around . I would say it ' s more suited for parlor and stage shows due to the size and bulkiness , especially with the spiral binding .

Book to the Future is a Las Vegas themed book prediction effect . You can predict , with 100 % certainty , what words your spectators will choose in a book which is examined by them beforehand . Nothing is swapped , they choose the page every time by freely inserting a fully examined postcard ( or any plain card ) into ANY page .

You can even have a practice run beforehand to further show how fair it is !

 You can predict 1,2,3,4 or more words for each spectator and instantly repeat to someone else in the same group with different words . It ' s A6 and pocket sized so is perfect for walk-around , parlor or stage . You can write the words on anything from a business card to a flip chart or in fact , on anything ! No memory work , peeks or good eyesight is needed ! It ' s a workers dream !


Option to reveal one or more of the words with a flame . You can theme it as a prediction , influence , mind control or even time travel if you wish !

 It also includes a bonus postcard prediction routine with 4 images on the postcard matching the outcome of 4 casino games . Just needs a regular deck of cards and a post it pads !

One final note is the book can not be handed out so you need to keep it on you and if they want to read it they can ' t . While not really an issue I know some of the book tests out there allow free handling without worry which makes it much more open .

METHOD :

This is really clever and makes it really easy to perform . You get the gimmick book plus some postcards , which allow for another card trick and performances by Steve at various places including his full Parlor show at The Magic Castle .

He has an added feature where you can actually do the entire routine again with different results . This is really clever and it will throw people off for sure . He has incorporate some nice subtleties so you can show the book and have the spectator do a dummy run choosing words , a place to visit etc ., and then go in to the performance . This is just a nice way to casually show it without handing it over to them . There are several reveals you can do and either do this on several people or one person . You can have the predictions appear anywhere from printed on a large board , a card or even ashes on the arm .

One issue I do have with a lot of book tests including this one is the size of font . The font size seems quite small so you need people with good eye sight . On stage the lights can really play havoc with book tests so the larger the print the better they are for stage .

FINAL THOUGHTS : I have to say I love the method because it is easy and nothing to memorise . Its ' got its merits and if it fits your presentation and style then definitely look at it and it ' s something you ' ll definitely use . It really depends on if you want a book test with a ore regular looking book that can be handed out or not .
