The front of the bag should be facing the spectator at this point . As your right hand reaches into the bag , it grasps the top rim of the cookie through the slit . Meanwhile your left thumb stays behind its respective side as your left forefinger slides to the front side alongside your other fingers .

Because the top edges are stepped , when you slowly lift the cookie upward and out of the bag , the spectator clearly sees that it is coming out from inside the bag . ( Figure 3 )

Place the bag slit-side down onto the table and after showing the cookie all around , place it onto the bag like it ' s a place mat . Say ,

" It ' s ready when you are ... " Break off a piece of the cookie and plop it into your mouth , adding : " ... and I ' m ready !"
