Magician Brian Glow ’ s life has taken a remarkable turn from the glittering world of international tours with 22 dancers , teams of technicians , three semi-trailers filled with illusions and a tour bus has spanned over three decades . While those experiences were undoubtedly thrilling , Brian ’ s true source of happiness lies in helping people .
Today , Brian continues to grace the world with major corporate shows and captivate audiences at events like the Winter Olympics . He wears many hats – performer , consultant , creator , producer , director , special effects designer – spanning opera , theatre , ballet , cruise ships , rock bands , symphonies , movies and TV . However , there is an extraordinary facet to his life that steals the show . For up to eight months each year , he vanishes into the icy embrace of Canada and Alaska ’ s frozen north , where he finds his purpose , driven by an insatiable desire to etch a lasting and profound difference in the lives of others - fighting against bullying and suicide .
Brian reflects , “ I ’ ve led a fulfilling life performing magic in over 45 countries , and still do , but I ’ ve always harbored a burning ambition to leave behind a legacy of life-changing impact .”
The journey that led Brian to his calling began in 1973 when he embarked on a tour of First Nation Aboriginal communities in Manitoba , Canada . The Manitoba Arts Council made these performances possible , offering glimpses of wonder to these remote communities .
One fateful night , a school principal from a community he had recently visited reached out to him . She was deeply concerned about a child who had attempted suicide three times and was returning from a hospital in Winnipeg . The child ’ s response to a simple question of “ what made him happy ?” shook Brian to the core . “ The only thing I ever liked
was the magician guy I saw .” This heart-wrenching revelation left Brian deeply troubled and pondering how he could make a difference .
Brian had experienced severe bullying during his school years which had left him deeply scarred . Tragically , he had also lost three friends who died by suicide . Determined to contribute positively to the lives of others , Brian decided to take action . He has three degrees , including one in Psychology . Despite this , he still felt ill-prepared and inexperienced , but that didn ’ t deter him . Without a concrete plan , he packed a suitcase filled with props and clothes and boarded the next day ’ s flight .
Four days of interaction followed and formed a connection between Brian and the troubled young boy . That connection blossomed into a profound and enduring friendship . Today , that once-troubled youth is a thriving adult who chose to become a drug and alcohol counselor . It was this transformative experience that ignited Brian ’ s lifelong mission to combat bullying and suicide .
With a wry smile , Brian Glow humorously reflects , “ Talk about jumping into the fire ! In retrospect , it was probably the riskiest thing I could have done , but it was a valuable lesson in living , learning and taking action .”
While Brian is not a therapist or a medical doctor , he has amassed a wealth of experience through decades of performing at sales meetings , product launches and trade shows . Brian ’ s list of regular clients reads like the “ Who ’ s who ” list of the Fortune 500 .
His unique approach incorporates product information into his magical presentations , transforming the products into memorable , impactful symbols . Recognizing the power
