LEGENDS PASS
March saw the loss of some true icons in magic. Johnny Thompson,
Marshall Brodien and Steve Dusheck. I would like to take this moment to
recognize them and their incredible contributions to our craft. We have
some wonderful tributes by those close to them in this issue and plan on
doing more in the near future.
I believe it is important to acknowledge those who have helped us, a
simple thank you often goes a long way. We should never take people,
events or situations which have assisted in our successes for granted,
without them we would not be where we are today.
VANISH was started with recognition in mind, showing appreciation for
people who have contributed to magic in any number of ways, this is why
it is important for us to have such an international outreach. I am proud
to say we connect with more magicians around the world than any other
organization or publication. We take pride in looking outside the norm,
often featuring the unknown, and for this reason our readership has grown
tremendously, connecting with a huge number of people who love magic
but may not have access to periodicals and information like those in North
America.
Finally, it is a pleasure to have Canadian Chris Funk as our feature artist.
His innovative approach to magic is a breath of fresh air. Having seen him
live I must say he quickly became one of my all time… favorite …top five
magicians today!!
