As an entertainer and schoolteacher , I particularly appreciated Nathan ’ s attention to each routine ’ s procedure . Nathan and I became fast friends during his residency in Maui . I suspect part of the reason is that we share a similar journey in magic . Like Nathan , I remember the specific moment I became hooked on the art of sleight-of-hand and the performance of magic . We both pursued mentors throughout our careers . And we both started performing in unusual venues to gain experience .
