As far as presentation David has given this a lot of thought . He does this at tables and is something that gets attention and can be left in full view . He shows the boxes and then takes out the key and ribbon from the empty clear box . This is what makes this such a strong effect because you are showing the clear box empty before putting it back in the wooden boxes . It is this idea that makes the Mystery Solved Next of boxes so unique .
There has never been a set of boxes where you show all the boxes empty at the beginning . The method is so clever that and the illusion is perfect . Even when you know how it works it will appear to be empty .
The great thing about the Nest of Boxes is it offers a structure to your close-up set . You can start by showing the box and handing the key with ribbon to somebody . During your show you would perform a card routine and then the finale of your act would be going to the box and showing the signed card folded inside . This is seriously great magic and will totally amaze your audience . Think about what they just saw . You showed them an empty clear box then put it inside another box , still empty . That was put inside another box and locked up . At no time did you go near it and whenever you want their card is made to appear folded inside the inner most box . You can have them unlock the wooden box , take out the smaller box then take out the clear box where they see a folded card .
There is some skill required such as folding a card and finger palming , but that is something most workers can do . In the original tutorial you will learn how to do these techniques if you aren ' t sure .
This ideally is a close-up trick and David says he does it at tables , I ' m assuming for weddings . You probably wouldn ' t do it strolling because you are walking around with the box , and you need a table to put them down on . I could see this being done in private parties ; stand-up type shows for audiences of around 30 . As long as your audience can see playing cards where you are working then they can easily see this .
This is by far the most devious version of any card to box effect and if you are looking for strong magic to finish your card set with this would be a good choice .
