Tessa Evason is one of the most celebrated mentalists in the world today. She channels her razor-sharp intuition and finely tuned mental prowess to produce mind-boggling results. By the age of eleven, Tessa had lived in five countries— England( her birthplace), St. Lucia, Grenada( her parents’ homeland), the United States, and Canada. Perhaps it was her nomadic childhood and her curiosity that sharpened her awareness and heightened her senses. Though her gifts remained hidden in those early years, she thrived in a joyful, wonder-filled childhood.

At just five, she joined the church choir, then immersed herself in classical ballet. When her family relocated to St. Lucia, she embraced Caribbean and African dance. Even then, she dreamed of becoming either a doctor or an entertainer— someone who could uplift, heal, and spark happiness in others.

It was on the lush island of St. Lucia that Tessa discovered magic. The memory still shimmers fondly in her mind. When she was around age eleven, her family watched the television screen transfixed, enjoying a skilled magician who defied logic with his impossible feats. Tessa loved the performance, but she equally loved the sheer magnetism of a great entertainer. She was entranced with the way the magician captivated every pair of eyes in the room.

She recognized the powerful allure of magic— and of magicians. To her, that magician and his assistant radiated superstar energy. She never imagined that one day she would meet the magic duo( Mark Wilson, 1929 – 2021, and Nani Darnell, c. 1930) nor that she would stand in that spotlight herself.

Later, in Toronto, Tessa pursued college studies while modeling high fashion to earn extra income. One day, she was offered a unique modeling job: assisting a magician in a glamorous outfit. The moment sparked a deep memory, and she leapt at the chance.“ Yes, I will!” she declared.

It was true magic. Tessa met Jeff Evason— and fell in love. Within six months, she was sharing the stage with him, mastering illusions, studying sleight of hand, and commanding the audience with newfound strength. Though naturally shy, magic seemed to unleash a fierce confidence she never suspected she had.
