July is the month Canada makes history by hosting FISM 2022 . I have seen the lineup of artists who will be performing and lecturing and have to say it is going to be one of , if not THE VERY Best convention many people will ever attend . What really came across to me when I saw who was going to be there , was how international it is . You will see and meet acts you ' ve probably never heard of , and they will become the superstars of the future of magic . If you have not yet registered there might still be time , but you ' d better phone or email the organizers to find out and I wouldn ’ t ' suggest just turning up on the day ! Years of hard work have gone into the organization of this event by Renee-Claude Auclair and Pierre Hamon and their team in Canada and during the most difficult time in our history . I have no idea how they navigated COVID and under pressures none of us could imagine they are about to pull off this history making convention .

While I am unable to attend , because I am still in New Zealand , I will have representatives of VANISH there including Louie Foxx and Connie Boyd . Be sure to stop by and say hello to them if you see them and do plan to see Connie ' s incredible talk on Magical Women . She has material in there that will blow your mind and when we talked about her presentation , she kept telling me things I had no idea about , and it really opened my eyes wide !

Because I wanted to make this a pre-FISM edition of VANISH I could think of no other past winner to have on the cover than Juliana Chen . She is without a doubt one of the great performers of our times and having seen her work multiple times in various venues I can tell you she just gets better the more I see her . This is a special interview with Juliana on her career and of course preparing for FISM .

Finally , I would like to wish ALL competitors a wonderful FSIM experience and competition . Somebody will be crowned the new World Grand Prix and we will see that magic is in great hands moving forward .
