Juliana has been groomed since childhood to be a consummate , professional performer . The spotlight along with the audience ’ s energy and applause are as essential to her wellbeing as is air .
She has sacrificed for her art . She ’ s also mentored emerging talent such as Ding Yang . Together with another FISM winner , Greg Frewin , they have guided the remarkable dove performer who will compete at FISM in the General Magic category this July in Quebec City , Canada .
Juliana explained , “ one of my reasons for mentoring Ding , was to inspire others by creating a revolutionary new image and performance within a classic , such as dove magic .” Her goal is to try to discourage the blatant copying and cloning of other artists acts , to inspire others to create their own acts and style that reflect their skill sets to provide performances which are much more satisfying .
In China , Juliana ’ s magic performance style is described as “ western ” and in Europe and North America it ’ s called “ Asian ”. With a proven act that appeals to both the east and the west , Juliana states , “ I personally prefer magic performances that are delicate , artistic , soulful and appealing to the eye ”.

It was a logical transition that Juliana would be invited to become a magic competition judge . It started in the 1990 ’ s with Dale Salwak ’ s invitation to judge competitions at the IBM . That led to judging international competitions such as the British IBM in the UK and in India .
