Essentially this is a base effect . The door is , legitimately , a door ( hollow ), constructed from 1 / 4 " plywood . The handles are screwed in place , stationary , not able to turn . The “ brick wall ” is made from foam floral bricks , glued around the frame of the door , then carved and painted to resemble real bricks .

The deceptive base is comprised of three sections ; ( 1 ) The top frame that structurally supports the wall / door , ( 2 ) the plank floor that the wall / door sits on , and ( 3 ) the rolling framework that supports all of the above .

The “ plank ” floor is actually a plywood box ( hollow ) with short uneven pieces of wood attached to give the impression of several boards attached together
